What an amazing trainer, not only does Shane know his dogs, he is a brilliant communicator. I leave his sessions with confidence that I’m on the right track, I learn so much from him about my dog and training in general by just watching him, in addition to the scent skills I am there to learn. I’m a complete amateur and he explains things thoroughly without making you feel stupid or judged, I cannot recommend Shane highly enough

We first started with Canine Specialist Training in their herding program, which was not only incredibly fun but also a fantastic way to channel my dog’s instincts. Herding training has recently closed but lucky for us CST offers other unique services so we’ve moved into scent detection training, and it has been absolutely amazing. It’s stimulating, fulfilling, and such a rewarding activity for my dog — he lights up every time we arrive!

Shayne is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. He provides thoughtful, well-structured challenges that are perfect for dogs who need mental engagement, especially working breed dogs like my GSD.

Shane is amazing, he genuinely cares and goes above and beyond for you and your dog. Myself and my dog have been training with him for the past few years, doing obedience, herding and scent detection. He makes the sessions really fun for myself and my dog and my dog bindi gets so exited every-time she sees him because she knows she’s in for a good time. Shane has awesome advise for you and your dog, he really opened my eyes on how to understand my dog and how to happily live with her. I would highly recommend Shane for any dog! ☺️

Our first time with The Canine Specialist with sheep herding and it was amazing. Shayne helped us get our Kelpies around the sheep and they had so much fun. Looking forward to coming back and learning a lot more. Absolutely recommended anyone wanting to try.
